State Route 30, Part 3.
19th St, Haven Ave, Highland Ave, and SR 210 in Rancho Cucamonga.
Picking up where we left off, we entered the city limits of Rancho Cucamonga - the last city along this continuous route. We traverse solely along 19th St here, although historically the route turned north on Haven Ave then east on Highland Ave. Now, 19th St continues to a now completely decommissioned section of Highland Ave - the western-most portion of Highland Ave that still exists in some fashion that carried SR 30. That decommissioned section is now a walking/bike path maintained by the city.
Just east of Vineyard Ave, we meet our first mile marker since 2.5 in the previous part.

NB Haven Ave/EB old SR 30. Here, SR 30 would turn right on Highland Ave which was essentially at the onramp for EB SR 210. These signs should be put up by Caltrans/SANBAG, and it's interesting that they shoe-horned a three-digit number into a two-digit shield on the directional. This section was never opened as SR 30 nor is there any green out.

It's a walking/bicycling path. Neat! What's funny is Rancho Cucamonga tried so hard to keep people from knowing that is was formally SR 30 that they took out the center stripe, tarred the bike paths, landscaped and even went as far as painting the bottom 1/4 of all the light poles along this stretch.

They officially consider this a trail. There is no reason this couldn't be a two-lane road nowadays, but it provides a buffer between the homes and the freeway (its on the other side of that sound wall. Wave hi to the Milliken Ave offramp!). I think Rancho Cucamonga just doesn't want people zipping through here trying to bypass SR 210 traffic in the afternoon.

EB Highland Ave Trail/old SR 30. See what I said about the light poles? One or two probably said either Highland or SR 30 on them and the city wanted to cover it up. They, however, didn't want them to look out of place. I've never seen a city paint over concrete light poles like that. This is our final look at this trail. It curves off south before terminating at Fairmont Way. Directly ahead? SR 210's eastbound exit for Milliken Ave. Lets go look.
